The return of the Grande Braderie de Marigot this Sat.

MARIGOT: After a two years absence, the heart of Marigot will once again beat to the rhythm of the famous “braderie des commerçants”. The event will take place on Saturday, August 6, from 9 am to 6:30 pm, on Rue du General de Gaulle.

Organized by the association Actions Economiques et Citoyennes de Saint Martin (AEC) and in partnership with the Collectivité, the CCISM and the Office de Tourisme, the Grande Braderie de Marigot is back, to the delight of the public and the merchants. This Saturday, August 6, from 9 am to 6:30 pm, General de Gaulle Street will be entirely pedestrianized, all the way to the gardens of the Collectivité. With the slogan “I love my shopkeeper, I buy local”, the organizers are operating in a process of revitalization of the city center to promote and enhance the commercial streets of Marigot by developing the quality of life, safety, and, of course, the commercial offers.

Their will is also to revive the mythical braderie which had been left on hold since the health crisis of covid, for lack of authorization to relaunch the event and leaving the epicenter of shopping in mourning. The braderie of Marigot allows the public to make good deals with prices defying all competition and discounts up to -80%. Yann Lecam, president of the association, gives us a concrete example: “On products whose price is usually 49€, they will be available for sale from 5€.” About sixty stalls including ten shopkeepers around will be set up from 8 am in the street General de Gaulle where the public is expected from 9 am this Saturday.

In a popular atmosphere with an air of a fair, the Great Marigot Flea Market also offers food and beverage stands to regain strength between shopping sessions. DJ Marco will be in charge of the music and will animate the flash sales throughout the day. While the grown-ups are making (very) good deals, the little ones will be able to have fun in a bouncy castle or try their luck at winning a gift at duck fishing. For the occasion, the General de Gaulle street will be closed to traffic from Friday, August 5th at 6 pm to Saturday, August 6th at 7 pm to make way for the annual braderie of the local merchants. For those who would like to taste the joys of discounted prices, the West Indies shopping mall has launched its sale since yesterday, a sale that will continue this Friday and Saturday too. Good deals are also exported to Bellevue where prices will be cut on Friday and Saturday at Bébé n’KIDS, Jules, Vibs, and GO Sport. At the Howell Center shopping center, Cocolito will be selling off on the same days. Have a great sale!
