MARIGOT: Tourism education is governed by a tripartite agreement created in 2013 and recently renewed in 2020 between the Collectivity, the Tourist Office, and the National Education.
This education is available in the 3 colleges of the territory for students of 4th and 3rd.
The objectives are multiple:
– To educate and inspire aspiring citizens by making them aware of their role in society.
– To make young people aware of the importance and protection of their economic system and their environment in everyday life.
– Create ambassadors who are proud of their territory.
– To prepare young people for the future.
In addition to the courses given, school outings are organized to present the tourist offer in a concrete way (discovery of the territory, the historical and cultural heritage, awareness of sustainable tourism…)
“We can be proud of these students and their investment, the next generation is assured,” said the National Education Department in St. Martin and St. Barths.
