ARS clarification on the expiration dates of vaccines

MARIGOT:  Among the false information circulating on social media is a photo of a bottle of vaccine labeled with a date of 12/2021.

Once again, the Regional Health Agency (ARS) wishes to remind that the European health authorities have validated on October 6, 2021 an extension of the shelf life at very low temperature of the vaccine of the Pfizer laboratory to 9 months from the date of manufacture, instead of 6 months initially.

Thus, the lot that was photographed (FH8469) is part of the list of vaccines whose expiration date increases from 12/2021 to 31/03/2022. In general, health professionals responsible for receiving, storing, and distributing vaccines at vaccination sites, and those in charge of preparing and administering doses, ensure on a daily basis that the pharmaceutical products used are valid in accordance with the rules of good practice.

Both national and regional authorities are and remain vigilant about the quality and safety required at all times for all health products that are made available to the population.
