Air Caraïbes has decided not to resume flights between Paris and Havana or Santiago de Cuba this summer, due to the health situation and travel restrictions.
Planned since autumn, for the beginning of this year, the return of the French company between its base in Paris-Orly and the airports of Havana-José Marti and Santiago-Antonio Maceo is now not planned before October 22, 2022. Cuba announced last week that it was closing its borders to non-vaccinated travelers. Air Caraïbes says affected passengers have been notified, with three options available to them – as for all travelers affected by flight schedule changes due to the Covid-19 pandemic:
Request a no-cost change to the reservation: a possible fare adjustment may be requested if the original fare is no longer available. “The request for modification must be made at the earliest before the initial departure date, otherwise the ticket will be lost.
Request a credit note: valid for 1 year (from the date of issue) on the entire network for departures between March 4, 2021 and June 30, 2022 inclusive (for tickets issued before March 30, 2022). “You can use your credit at Air Caraïbes points of sale or at the reservation center. No service fee will be charged for your new reservation. IMPORTANT: the request for a credit must be made as soon as possible and no later than 7 days before the initial departure date of the first flight. If the credit note could not be used, you can request a refund at any time.
Request a refund: for travel between March 4, 2021 and June 30, 2022 (last departure and for tickets issued before March 30, 2022). “If the fare conditions of your ticket do not allow a refund, you must first submit your request for a credit note. After receiving this credit note, you can request a refund at any time during the year following the date of issue.
IMPORTANT: the refund request must be made at least 7 days before the initial departure date of the first flight. Please note that the service fees associated with the purchase of the ticket are not refundable.
The rest of the Air Caraïbes transatlantic flight schedule is unchanged for the moment from Orly: Pointe-à-Pitre, Fort-de-France, Cayenne, Saint-Martin (Grand-Case and Juliana with possible extension to Saint-Barthélemy), Punta Cana and Port-au-Prince continue to welcome its aircraft.
