MARIGOT: The latest health bulletin published by the Regional Health Agency (ARS) reports 126 new cases of Covid-19 declared for the period from December 20 to 26, compared to 46 the previous week.

Taking into account the consolidated data of the previous weeks, this brings to 4,250 the number of cumulative cases of coronavirus confirmed on the territory since the beginning of the health crisis.

Since Monday, 74 new cases of Covid-19 have already been recorded out of 505 analyses carried out, which means a very strong growth (14.6% of positivity rate for the moment).

As of December 29, 4 patients were treated at the Louis-Constant Fleming Hospital. A 76-year-old woman died last week in the hospital.

Since the beginning of the health crisis, 58 residents of Saint-Martin and 6 residents of Saint Barthélémy have died as a result of Covid-19.

In Sint Maarten, the incidence rate has risen sharply to 397.2/100 000 inhabitants, compared with 128.7/100 000 the week before.

The weekly positivity rate is also on the rise, with a rate of 4.1% in week 51, compared with 1.3% in week 50.

In Saint-Barthélemy, the increase in the number of cases is even greater with 224 people testing positive last week and 81 since the beginning of the week.
