GUADELOUPE: The roads of Guadeloupe are strewn with numerous blockades linked to the demonstrations against compulsory vaccination. Last Thursday night was marked by scenes of violence that led to the dispatch of reinforcements of members of law enforcement.
Gérald Darmanin, Minister of the Interior, and Sébastien Lecornu, Minister of Overseas France, condemn in the strongest terms the violence that has taken place in recent hours in Guadeloupe.
The ministers offer their support to the forces of law and order and the State services mobilized. They have decided to deploy 200 additional police officers and gendarmes in the coming days to restore republican order.
In addition to the roadblocks erected throughout the island, in Pointe-à-Pitre, at least six homes have been affected by arson. Four of them were completely destroyed despite the intervention of the firemen. Stores were also broken into and a jewelry store was completely robbed as well as a motorcycle dealership.
