MARIGOT: “I welcome the decision of the government and the Regional Health Agency to postpone to December 31, 2021 the obligation of vaccination against Covid19 for health care workers in Martinique, as well as the end of free screening tests. This second postponement for Martinique demonstrates that it is always possible to adapt restrictions according to the context.
St. Martin is facing the same difficulties, so we are asking that this relaxation be applied to St. Martin’s health care providers as well. The suspension of dozens of health care workers would jeopardize the capacity of our hospital to provide care, and we cannot take this risk.
As a reminder, the epidemiological indicators show an improvement in our territory and the vaccination coverage of the population is approximately the same as in Martinique. I therefore appeal to the government and the ARS to ensure that the health care workers of Saint-Martin can benefit from the same postponement.
