MARIGOT: Last Sunday, around 12 o’clock, a resident of St. Martin suffered an aneurysm rupture during a jet-ski tour organized with several of his friends. He was saved from drowning thanks to the quick intervention of the instructor who was leading the tour.
The person in charge of the jet-ski tour witnessed the scene and immediately went to his rescue. The man was unconscious, head under water and was drowning. The instructor clearly saved his life as he then brought him back to the beach. The calmness and determination of the jet ski instructor saved the man from certain death.
Brought back on dry land with the help of another person, a nurse by profession, the man was then taken over by the staff of the hotel La Samanna who gave him first aid. Alerted, the firemen and the SMUR arrived quickly on the scene and stabilized the person before his transfer to the Louis-Constant Fleming Hospital and then in EVASAN (Health Evacuation) to the CHU of Pointe-à-Pitre Sunday evening.
Yesterday, the medical staff decided to transfer the patient to Metropolitan France, as his health condition was considered worrying. We wish Cyrille a speedy recovery and a rapid return to St. Martin.
