MARIGOT: By deliberation of the Territorial Council dated July 1, 2021, the Collectivité de Saint Martin has set up a new procedure for the archiving of driver’s licenses, in accordance with the regulations in force.
This procedure provides that once the driver’s license is available, the Collectivité will contact the holder to inform him or her (by phone, email or text message). The driver’s license issued by the Community must be collected within 6 months of its availability. If the permit is not collected within the time limit, the permit will be stamped (destroyed) to prevent fraudulent use and then permanently archived.
The permit will no longer be held or issued by the Collectivity. Nevertheless, a duplicate of the driver’s license can be issued at the request of the holder, upon payment of an administrative fee of 100 euros.
As this procedure is new, the Collectivity has decided to give a delay before destruction until December 31, 2021, to all the holders of driving licenses who have not yet recovered their title.
For further information, the Department of Driving Licenses – Service des Titres – receives the public from Monday to Thursday from 8:15 am to 1:00 pm. No reception of the public on Friday for driver’s licenses.
The availability of permits can be checked on the community’s website:
