Saint Martin, “the place to be” in Martinique
MARIGOT: From July 9th to 11th, the Tourist Office of Saint Martin conducted an operation to promote our destination to the people of Martinique who, like Guadeloupeans, come more often to the island during the two months of school vacations.
Despite the travel restrictions related to the health crisis, the Tourist Office of Saint Martin has maintained its operation “Saint Martin is the place to be” in Martinique, in order to boost regional attendance once the health constraints are relaxed. A first edition of this promotional operation, conducted with RCI Martinique and presented on the air by the inevitable Charly, took place from July 9 to 11 in partnership with the Grand-Case Beach Club and Air Antilles.
In the presence of the regional representative of the Tourist Office, Patrick Deffit, who came from Martinique for the occasion, more than 20 2-minute interviews were conducted in Saint-Martin and broadcast live on RCI Martinique to promote the assets of our destination and offer promotional rates to listeners. Accommodations, restaurants, activities… A dozen tourist actors have benefited from this highlighting.
Impact: 200,000 listeners
The Tourist Office was committed to guiding the teams of RCI Martinique in order to direct them to everything that makes the charm of our little paradise. “Throughout the live broadcasts, the impact of this promotion was undeniable, reservations were taken immediately despite the current restrictions,” says Gregoire Dumel, head of the local and regional market at the Tourist Office. If inter-island travel is currently limited, it is a matter of continuing to make an impression and prepare the ground for a more favorable period for travel.
With 200,000 listeners, RCI is the leading radio station in Martinique and has a very important strike force for such a promotional operation. Other editions of “Saint Martin is the place to be” will be scheduled.
