Nine years after its last final, 53 after its last continental title, Italy is back!
The Squadra qualified last night for the Euro final at the expense of Spain in a tense match that was decided on penalties (1-1, 4-2 t.a.b.). The Italians were less flamboyant against Belgium but they were solid and now await their opponent: England or Denmark.
England favorite
England and Denmark will face each other at Wembley tonight (3pm SXM) for a place in the final after having taken very different paths to reach the semi-finals.
While England became the first team not to concede a goal in their first five Euro games, beating Ukraine 4-0 in the quarterfinals, Denmark recovered from losses in each of their first two games to win the next three and reach the last four with a 2-1 win over the Czech Republic in Baku. Which of the two teams will advance to Sunday’s final against Italy? That is the question. AF
