ARGENTINA: A law was passed unanimously by the Tierra del Fuego Legislative Assembly to preserve marine ecosystems.
This is a first and above all a big step for the environment. According to reports, Argentina is the first country in the world to ban salmon farming. A law was passed against “this activity harmful to the environment” in the province of Tierra del Fuego.
The Legislative Assembly of the archipelago shared with Chile passed the law unanimously on Wednesday, June 30. Located in Patagonia, in the south of the American continent, Tierra del Fuego includes a large number of small islands with Cape Horn as the southernmost point. Different species live there such as gulls, seagulls, kingfishers, penguins and other hummingbirds. The Canadian beaver even proliferated there.
