Tons of waste collected during “Clean Up”

MARIGOT: A “Clean Up” of the island gathering 12 districts was organized last Sunday by Initiative Saint Martin Active on the occasion of its 20th anniversary.

The following 12 districts were mobilized: Agrément / Hameau du pont, Baie Lucas / Quartier d’Orléans, Baie Nettlé, Baie Orientale public, Concordia, Cul-de-Sac, Friar’s Bay, Front de Mer / Marigot, Grand-Case / Happy Bay, Le Galion, Saint James and Sandy Ground

Teams of 6 people were formed, in order to respect social distancing protocols. The action gathered more than 200 participants.

More than 18 tons of waste was collected.

At the end of the clean up, breakfast was offered and the prize giving ceremony took place on the Galion beach.
