POND ISLAND: Children, age 12 and older, with underlying conditions are now eligible for the COVID-19 vaccine at the vaccination locations: Collective Prevention Service at the Vineyard Office Park in Philipsburg, and Caribbean Cinemas in Cole Bay. A parent needs to state that the child has one of these underlying conditions at the vaccination location.
The underlying conditions are blood cancer (leukemia, lymphoma, myeloma), severe kidney failure or on dialysis, severe primary immune deficiency (immune-compromised, or HIV), down syndrome, morbid obesity (a BMI higher than 40), organ or bone marrow transplant recipient (added chronic COPD), and diabetes.
People, who have not yet received or registered for the COVID-19 vaccine, are reminded by the government that Friday, July 9, will be the last opportunity to be part of the mass vaccination campaign. At the end of July, the Pfizer vaccine will be discontinued.
Caribbean Cinemas is open for vaccination walk-ins on weekdays, from 9:00am to 2:00pm.
CPS is open 8:30am to 12:30pm and 1:30pm to 4:00pm on weekdays.
The vaccination community outreach continues with another pop-up at the De Weever Estate in Dutch Quarter on June 26.
