MARIGOT: Due to the prevailing health elements, the Prefet of Saint-Barthélemy and Saint-Martin has decided to extend the COVID-19-related curfew until today, Friday, June 18. This will be effective from 8:00pm to Saturday, 3:00am.
Consequently, all establishments open to the public will have to close at 8:00pm and gatherings of people are prohibited.
Only people with a certificate and supporting documents additional vehicles will be authorized to circulate during this period.
The gendarmerie will execute controls.
The latest health bulletin from Public Health France reports 90 new cases for the period from June 7 to 13. Since May 20, 10 people have died and 14 medical evacuations to the Guadeloupe hospital have been completed.
As of June 17, 6 people are hospitalized at Louis Constant Fleming Hospital.
A press conference will be held today by the Prefect and the Director of the Agency regional health center on the evolution of the health situation and future measures.
The Prefet recalls that everyone’s mobilization is necessary to fight the epidemic, and that vaccination, respect for barrier gestures, social distancing, wearing masking and limiting gatherings of people are the most common effective in achieving this.
