LAHORE: Pakistani police officers arrested 19 employees —mostly students — of a fast-food chain who refused to give them free burgers.
Employees of the Johnny & Jugnu fast-food chain in the eastern city of Lahore had to abandon their kitchens and customers to spend seven hours in cells overnight from Saturday to Sunday.
This is not the first time that this has happened to the restaurant team. It all began when staff refused a “request from a very special client”.
In light of the events, nine police officers were suspended. Pakistani police are notorious for being corrupt, with officers often demanding bribes from businesses. Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan has called for a reform
