ST. BARTHS: After the victory of Nils Palmieri and Julien Villion (TeamWork), who arrived in Gustavia on Sunday, May 31st, at around 6:00 p.m., the arrivals in Saint Barth were followed by a very nice atmosphere. The duos Tanguy Le Turquais/Corentin Douguet (Queguiner – Innoveo) and Tom Laperche/Loïs Berrehar (Bretagne – CMB Performance) completed the podium.
One hour and 42 minutes behind the winners (NLDR, Nils Palmieri and Julien Villion crossed the finish line in 18 days, 5 hours, 8 minutes and three seconds), Tanguy Le Turquais and Corentin Douguet took the second place. “The first thing we want to say is well done to TeamWork! They were imperial, they did a perfect job. We are very happy for them because they are guys we like”, said Tanguy Le Turquais.
“We are the second in the northern group to get through. We are not unhappy with our performance. It was quite stressful, we didn’t get bored. It was very hard physically, it was also a great experience. We reached the end. We pushed the cursor far, we arrived exhausted.
Thirty minutes later, Tom Laperche and Loïs Berrehar completed the podium. “All the favorites went south without hesitation. We are proud of our race, from start to finish. 36 hours ago, we imagined we would be 7th or 8th behind the whole northern group. We fought hard to be the first in the south and manage to cross in third position”, Tom Laperche was pleased to say.
