French side curfew regulations

The Prefect has decided, due to the deterioration of the sanitary situation on St. Martin, to institute a curfew for a period of 10 days. This is effective since Sunday, May 30th from 8:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m.

Travel between these hours will be prohibited except on presentation of a personal or professional exemption certificate and for one of the following reasons

– Travel between home and the place of work;

– Travel for consultations, examinations, preventive procedures and care that cannot be provided at a distance or for the purchase of health products;

– Travel for imperative family reasons, for assistance to vulnerable or precarious people or for childcare;

– Travel for people with disabilities and their companions;

– Travel to respond to a judicial or administrative summons or to visit a legal professional for an act or procedure that cannot be carried out at a distance;

– Travel to participate in missions of general interest at the request of the administrative authority;

– Travel related to transfers or transits to or from airports within the framework of long-distance travel and being able to present the supporting ticket;

– Short trips for the needs of pets.

The two exemptions certificates are already available on the website of the Prefecture www.saint-barth-saint-martin.gouv.fr. In addition, in order to complete the curfew measure, the Prefect of has also decided to cancel all events on the island until Tuesday, July 8th inclusive. Access to the stadium stands is formally prohibited, except for the practice of sports activities. Restaurants and bars must be closed at 8:00 p.m. The hotel restaurants will be able to welcome and serve their customers only. Access is therefore strictly forbidden to outsiders.
