JACKSONVILLE: A 7-year-old boy in Florida is hailed as a hero after swimming for help when his sister and father were swept away by a current.
Steven Poustanchored his boat on the St. Johns River in Jacksonville, Florida, to let his two children, Chase, 7, and Abigail, 4, swim. .
But Abigail got swept away by the current. The dad jumped in to try and help them and told Chase to swim to shore as he tried to reach his daughter, who was wearing a life jacket.
It took Chase an hour to reach the shore: he was floating on his back and he was paddling so as not to exhaust himself. When he reached land, he ran to the nearest house to ask for help.
