Dry spell expected for the next two months

MARIGOT: Guadeloupe, Martinique and the Northern Islands have entered for several weeks in a dry season that seems to persist. The forecast models show a deficit in rainfall until July.

From August onwards, the 1st Tropical Waves should not be very active and located at a latitude much too close to the equator to bring enough rain to fill the tanks. The arrival of the MJO (Madden-Julian Oscillation) from the west during the month of June could eventually bring a boost of moisture to our regions, but the Saharan sand dust and the dynamics of the air masses reduce the chances of seeing heavy rainfall in the coming days.

In short, the lack of water has been cruelly felt for several weeks, including at the tap in St. Martin.
