Portugal: The “Blues” of Chelsea won, Saturday night, in Porto, the Champions League final by beating Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City, thanks to a goal by Kai Havertz just before half-time. The final score was Chelsea FC: 1 – Manchester City: 0.
One goal was enough for the “Blues” to lift the cup with the big ears so coveted by all the clubs in Europe.
After a crazy first half hour, full of situations in both penalty areas, the goal of the young German, Kai Havertz (42nd) logically rewarded the most audacious team.
The second half was a constant battle and for several months, Chelsea has been unplayable in this register of all-out pressing. It took the sixth minute of extra time to see Riyad Mahrez send a big thrill through the Blues camp.
The fact remains that Saturday night, there was no contest and Chelsea deserved it.
In Porto, London and all over the world, Chelsea fans celebrated their second Champions League title, after the one won in 2012. Jubilant scenes that also mark the return of the public to the stadiums after a difficult time of the pandemic. What a pleasure to see the atmosphere in a sports arena again!
