REWARD: St. Martin of Tours Parish administered the First Holy Communion to the second batch of children at the Church of the Risen Christ on Sunday. Taking the blessing were pupils of Sister Regina Primary School and Sister Marie Laurence Primary School.
The eight candidates received the Sacrament of Holy Communion for the very first time, after being prepared for two years. This is a privilege and should be received with an attitude of gratitude, said the catholic church.
The first batch of children taking their first Holy Communion this year were from St. Joseph Primary School and the St. Martin of Tours Parish Program.
First Communion is a ceremony in the catholic traditions during which a person first receives the Eucharist. In churches that celebrate First Communion, it typically occurs between the ages of seven and 13, often acting as a rite of passage.
