CAY HILL: Residents are urged by the Office of Disaster Management to start preparations for the forecasted active 2021 Atlantic hurricane season. The annual season officially commences on June 1.
Disaster Management Coordinator Clive Richardson calls on the business community to review their hurricane readiness plans ahead of the start of the upcoming season and be ready to act when the need arises.

The named storms forecasted by the Colorado State University in its April 8 forecast number 17; of which eight could become hurricanes and four could become major hurricanes of Category 3-plus.
The storm names for the 2021 Atlantic hurricane season are Ana, Bill, Claudette, Danny, Elsa, Fred, Grace, Henri, Ida, Julian, Kate, Larry, Mindy, Nicholas, Odette, Peter, Rose, Sam, Teresa, Victor, and Wanda.
