New active cases on the French side

MARIGOT: According to the latest figures published by the Agence Régionale de Santé, 90 new active cases have been recorded in Saint Martin, 57 cases from May 10th to 16th and 33 others (out of 576 tests performed) since Monday, May 17th. Also during the week of May 10-16, a 71-year-old patient unfortunately died of the virus at the Louis Constant Fleming Hospital.

Taking into account the consolidated data of the previous weeks, this brings to 1,915 the number of cumulative cases of coronavirus confirmed in the territory since the beginning of the epidemic.

As of May 19th, three patients are hospitalized in the medical department of the Louis Constant Fleming Hospital.

It should be noted that epidemiological indicators are stable but remain at a high level. However, it should be noted that the use of screening is increasing, which shows that the virus is still present in the territory and is actively circulating.

The weekly incidence rate, according to Si-DEP data, is increasing and has been above the alert threshold for the last 5 weeks. It stands (for all cases in Saint Martin tested in the territory or residents tested outside the territory) at 159.5/100,000 inhabitants from May 10th to 16th, compared to 153.9/100,000 the previous week.

The weekly positivity rate, again according to SI-DEP data, is 3.6%. It is stable compared to last week (against 4% from May 3 to 9) and is above the vigilance threshold.
