PHILIPSBURG: The young people of St. Maarten are in need of an Obstacle Course to continue their paramilitary and skills training.
St. Maarten Youth Brigade, the non-governmental organization that works with teenage boys and girls on physical, mental and academic development, is seeking approximately one acre of land to build a much needed obstacle course. The course will give especially young people a place to use their energy positively.
The Youth Brigade members will also be trained as fitness coaches and will be able to guide anyone who wants to use the facility.
The course will not only serve the Youth Brigade. It will be accessible to the public, schools, businesses, police, firefighters, and the Voluntary Corps St. Maarten VKS, among others, as a training facility. This will aid in much needed skills and physical training and boost a competitive, yet friendly, competition.
The obstacle course can be used as a facility for fitness, Crossfit competitions and for Sports Tourism.
