GALISBAY: The President of the Collectivité de Saint-Martin went to the vaccinodrome of Galisbay, Friday May 7th, 2021, to receive the first dose of the vaccine (Pfizer) against the Covid19 virus. Prefect Serge Gouteyron, who has already received his vaccine, was present with the President. This was an opportunity to jointly greet the Red Cross teams who are running the program.
The challenge today is to ensure that the population is protected and that our territory can reopen to tourism and gradually resume a normal social and economic life.
The son of a doctor, President Gibbs said that his entire family had already received the vaccine and that he too wanted to be vaccinated to set an example and help protect the population:
“We have to trust medicine. It is a matter of protecting oneself, protecting others and also of doing everything possible so that our tourist island can return to normal functioning. I therefore invite the entire population to make this step of solidarity of vaccination,” he said.
The Vaccinodrome opened its doors on Monday, May 3rd on the site of Galisbay (Carnival village), and welcomes the public (over 18 years old), from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday to Saturday.
All you need to do is show up without an appointment, with your health insurance card or proof of address and ID. The vaccine is covered at 100% by the health insurance.
