31 new active cases recorded in four days in Saint Martin

MARIGOT: Between Monday, May 3 and Thursday, May 6, 31 new active cases have been recorded in the French part of the island. This is a significant increase compared to the previous two weeks (22).

On May 5th, five patients remained hospitalized in the medical department of the Louis Constant Flemling Hospital. In addition, a Covdid19 positive patient had to be evacuated to Guadeloupe last week.

For the period from April 26th to May 2nd, a cluster in a day care center has been declared and totals 4 cases and a new cluster in a professional environment has been detected last week totalling 10 cases at this stage.

Epidemiological indicators remain at a low level, despite a slight increase in cases, which shows that the virus remains present in the territory.

The weekly incidence rate, according to Si-DEP data, is stable but remains above the alert threshold. It stands at 61.5/100,000 inhabitants.

The weekly positivity rate, again according to SI-DEP data, is 1.5%. It is stable compared to the previous week and remains below the vigilance threshold.

As for the vaccination campaign, 3,649 people have received their first injection and 1,790 people the second.
