HARBOUR VIEW: A total of twenty young people are nominated in various categories for the second annual Governor’s Youth Awards for Excellence. The nominees are derived from a public call from the Governor’s Cabinet for nominees. This call for nominees is now closed.
The Governor’s Youth Awards for Excellence are special distinctions granted by the Governor of St. Maarten to recognize young people, ages 13 and 19, who have excelled in academics, arts, sports, environmental protection, or community service.
The bench of judges of the Evaluation Committee for the awards are now evaluating the nominations for each category and will make their recommendations to the Governor. Selected nominees, their parents, and their nominators will be invited to attend the awards ceremony on June 24 at which the winners will be announced.
