RODAC sees 128 people decorated in 20 years

PELICAN: The Royal Decorations Advisory Committee (RODAC) recently marked twenty years of existence. The committee, under the guidance of Governor Eugene Holiday, has prepared the advices for the nomination of community spirited people for decorations by the Dutch monarchy.

Commending the committee at the recent King’s Day reception, Governor Holiday said those advices have resulted in some 128 persons being recognized with a royal decoration. This special honor is bestowed to worthy residents of the Kingdom of the Netherlands. This year, St. Maarten had three recipients: one knight and two members in the Order of Oranje-Nassau.

He thanked the past and current members of RODAC for their contributions. “I therefore extend my thanks for your service and congratulate you on your 20th anniversary … For me, it has been a pleasure working with you for the past 10 years.”

The current members of RODAC are Wally Havertong (chairman), Cassandra Janssen (secretary), Irene Hodge, Maxime Larmonie and  Valerie Gitterson-Pantophlet.
