With 37 lovely beaches to enjoy on St. Martin/St. Maarten Baie Rouge is one that offers all the beauty one would imagine a Caribbean beach to have.
You will find pristine waters, white sands, and a vista that will enthrall as the sun sets. The beach is long, so is seldom crowded as visitors can find their special spot.
To one side are some rocks off which the intrepid like to jump – wait for the swell to come in as it is not very deep there.
For the snorkelers there is a great, long snorkel around the corner to the arch. It is advisable to snorkel with a buddy.
Sometimes the sea can be rough and the sand can drop off steeply from the beach so before entering the water remember to study the conditions carefully; it is sometimes difficult to get out of the water easily, other times there will be no problem.
The beach is located in the Lowlands. There is parking and short steep steps to the beach.
There are no amenities and no shade. Visitors need to take everything with them.
Remember to leave the beach as clean as you would like to find it next time you visit.
