People on the Dutch side of the island who are insured via the Social and Health Insurances SZV can breathe a sigh of relief as pharmacies have not suspended acceptance of SZV cards. This means SZV-insured persons do not have to pay out of pocket for medication.
Pharmacies were paid in full for January by government via SZV on Monday, April 26. Payment to pharmacies for February is expected on Friday, May 7. It was agreed that insured persons will continue to be covered without interruptions.
Payments to the pharmacies will be made between the 25th and 27th of each month. If an issue arises concerning payments, pharmacies will be informed ahead of time.
SZV-insured people had risk losing access to medications as of April 28, if the bills of the pharmacies were not paid by government via SZV. This was avoided by all parties meeting and payments arrangements being made to ensure coverage was not lost.
