The victims aid association (Trait d’Union) is now accessible by appointment at 31 Rue de la Liberté in Marigot, just a stone’s throw from the Court. This organization helps victims of criminal offences.
The association, a member of the national network “France Victimes”, now has six employees: a president-director, two lawyers, a psychologist, a social worker and a social worker in the gendarmerie.
In addition to its primary missions (listening, information on rights and procedures, stand-by duty in the MSAPs, accompaniment to hearings, social support for all procedures and psychological support for victims of criminal offenses), Trait d’Union is a judicial support service. It prepares procedural documents at the request of magistrates, such as the personalized evaluation of victims’ needs (EVVI).
The association, financed by the Ministries of Justice and Overseas France, also conducts rapid social investigations as part of the Permanence d’Orientation Pénale (POP) and personality investigations on perpetrators for the investigating divisions of Guadeloupe, runs legal access points for the CDAD and citizenship/parenthood/awareness courses on the dangers of drug use, as well as school interventions against intra-family violence.
The association is best known for its multidisciplinary care of victims of domestic violence. But we also accompany ALL victims of criminal offences: victims of burglary, armed robbery, harassment, school bullying, etc.
