PM says her cabinet doing well

The Silveria Jacobs II Cabinet is performing well in spite of roadblocks put up by the Dutch Government for easy access to much needed liquidity support in these pandemic times. This is according to Prime Minister Silveria Jacobs.

Jacobs told the press on Wednesday, “We have been faced with challenges that have never been faced in any recent governments. So I think in that respect, even as a young government, we are doing the best we can under the circumstances.”

A lot of undue pressure from many fronts has been placed on St. Maarten, Jacobs said, referring to the Netherlands. Her cabinet has stood up against this while battling with its daily challenges. The Dutch government has been pushing for reform in various areas of the governmental apparatus including spending cuts and for the acceptance of a Caribbean Reform Organization COHO.

Jacobs said she has one of the youngest cabinets in the history of the country “as such innovation and finding solutions are the key changes I have noted as I have been in various governments prior to this one.”

The Jacobs II cabinet marked one year in office at the end of March.
