Player Development is an EarlyAct Service Club sponsored by Rotary Mid Isle.
The club meets the 2nd and 4th Saturday of the month at the Little League Ballpark on Pond Island – 10:30am.
The motto of the Little League is Character, Courage and Loyalty – this is the foundation of the program.
Player Development meets six days a week Monday to Saturday. The season runs from late January to June.
It was in 2002 that baseball Coach Tom began focusing on pulling children off the streets and providing them with a safe environment where they can have fun and learn basic life lessons.
The program is designed to develop discipline, respect and teach how to achieve a healthy life style. The athletes learn to respect first themselves, their teammates, coaches, parents, game officials and their opponents. The children will also learn about eating healthy and exercising.
Developing a model citizen with social skills and moral fiber is the prime goal and reading is a key component. Athletic training helps the athletes in physical fitness, a healthy lifestyle and to become ball players.
