Nature Foundation St. Maarten has our backs and have been quietly working on the research and collecting valuable data on the problem monkeys who are an invasive species to the island.
In an effort to meet the wishes and requirements of the World Bank, the Monkey Management Project will continue into May of Phase 1 of its initial plan, as this will give optimal results. The project has shifted to include interviews with residents of St. Maarten who will be able to weigh in on the options for management of the monkeys. Staff and volunteers from the Nature Foundation will be around the island gathering information at different locations.
The monkey problem is a concern to many residents on island especially as so many folks have started gardening since the first lockdown due to Covid-19.
The Monkey Management Project would like to thank Resources for Community Resilience – R4CR for their continued support in the project.
